Story excerpts and poetry from another up-and-coming author, Jack Thompson! He writes Science Fiction and Adventure, and there is also a page for the author Fun London. Two very skilled authors who I recommend warmly.

Highly recommended!

Friendly and professional advice on writing. On this site Grant Hudson talks about some great methods to improve your writing. Personally I use his techniques constantly while writing. You can buy his book, Master Authors' Secret Handbook, or you can get a free e-book (about 50 A4 pages long) which gives you a good taster into the methods.

Fantastic free software. A must-have for writers is the yWriter5 program. Takes a bit of getting used to but it has great functions that lets you split up your novel (and definitely reduces "Ctrl+A, random letter, Ctrl+S" entire-novel losses). Lets you add character data, actively tracks your word count and lots more. My personal favourite.

Putting the 'prod' in productivity. A nice, free, online writing tool which really helps with the "typing away madly" portion of every writer's key motto.
There's also a desktop version available which can be used without internet connection after download and costs only $10.

A free (though granted possibly a bit random) online tool which helps analyse novel titles. I use it myself as a bit of a yardstick to check if I'm completely heading into the woods with a novel title concept or not.

A writing program which generates exercising for you to try out from random words. You can enter your own words into the mix or can just stick with the existing database. Good for busting writer's block.

Excellent podcasts, each about 15 minutes long, that deal with various subjects concerning writing, editing and the publishing world. Speakers include Brandon Sanderson, Dan Wells, Howard Tayler as well various guest speakers. Funny as well as informative, I've picked up a few great pointers from these guys.
The 'casts are downloadable.
